The harm of artificial fertilizers
Friday, April 21, 2017 at 05:43
With the growing accumulation of scientific evidence on the harmful impact of artificial mineral fertilizers, strength and awareness of land conservation as the most important non-renewable resource strengthens. Of all synthetic fertilizers, the most aggressive are nitrogen fertilizers. They can damage the soil by chemical means, and they can kill the microorganisms by increasing the concentration of soil solution. Nitrogenous fertilizers stimulate the development of microbes that are fed with organic matter in the soil - humus, which makes the inseparable remains of plants and other living organisms. By degradation of this organic matter, the soil's ability to retain organic nitrogen is reduced, which then goes into deeper layers or goes into an atmosphere of nitrogen (N2O), which is almost 300 times as carbon-dioxide as a greenhouse gas.

Nitrogen has been the major component of synthetic fertilisers. Nothing beats nature, you can't cheat nature. The adverse effects and f the accumulation of too much nitrogen in the soil is eminent. When planting, especially on small scale, we should not use fertiliser on our gardens.
